Derrick Martin


 Derrick is a 14-year veteran of public safety.  Starting his career in the fire service as a Firefighter/Paramedic, he later transitioned into law enforcement. After being injured on the job, Derrick was forced to resign his commission and started his track in academia. While obtaining his undergraduate and two master's degrees, he served in various roles as an instructor as well as an officer for the Richland County Court of Common Pleas. Some of Derrick's accomplishments include, instructing for the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Advanced Arson Officer, Haz-Mat Technician, Fire Inspector, among others. Derrick is a NRA firearms Instructor, self defense trainer, CPR/First Aid Instructor, and much more. Derrick is a licensed professional counselor in the field of clinical mental health specializing in crisis/trauma/PTSD and brings those aspects into the training and curriculum development of our company. Derrick's background plays a major role in the courses taught by K&M Safety.
